Commemorating the 20th anniversary of Jeju’s designation as the ‘Island of World Peace’, this session will review peace action plans that Jeju has undertaken over the past two decades and explore visions and new peace-related goals for Jeju to pursue as an international city of peace in the future. In particular, through a critical assessment of the ’17 Peace Action Plans of the ‘Island of World Peace, Jeju’, this session will seek ways to further develop Jeju as a platform leading peace discourse to cultivate peace both on the Korean peninsula and Northeast Asia. Furthermore, experts from various fields will discuss global branding strategies to enhance Jeju’s status as an free international city with peace as its core identity.
