Dr. KIM Boo Chan is presently Emeritus Professor at Jeju National University (JNU) Law School. He retired from JNU at the end of August 2020. He researched and worked as a Visiting Scholar & Professor at Washington University in St. Louis Law School, Cornell University Law School in USA and Soka University Law School in Japan. His research topics are the international rule of law and the global governance. He served as the member of the International Law Advisory Committee at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the President of the Korean International Law Review Association, the Korean Society of International Law and the Youngnam Association of International Law. He is currently serving as the member of the Committee of the Law of the Sea at the Korean Coast Guard and as a commissioner of the Gwangju High Court and the Jeju District Court. He is the author of books; Fundamentals of Legal Science, New Lectures on International Law (co-authorship), The Strategy for Internationalization of Jeju, Global Governance & International Law, The Law of the Sea and Ieodo Problem, Special Lectures on International Law, Dangerous Ideas in Law (co-authorship), Law’s Dilemmas (co-authorship) and so on.
