Korea-EU Roundtable: The Role of Scientists for Peace in the Era of Chaos and Divisions

Along with the long tunnel of COVID-19, we are currently facing with new conflicts and crises in the new normal era, including armed conflict. Moreover there is an analysis that the world economy could enter a deep recession within a few years, because of US inflation, Europe’s energy crisis, and China’s city lockdown caused by Omicron mutation.
In the midst of this, the existing issues such as environmental problems, climate change, resource depletion and cyberattacks are still worsening, so it is a time when response through sharing and application of scientific and technological knowledge is much more important than ever before. The coexistence and cooperation of scientists using cutting-edge science and technology such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and blockchain are emphasized on a global scale.
In this session, scientists from Korea and Europe will gather to discuss the role of scientists in overcoming current conflicts and crises from multi-layered perspective.
