Smart-Saemaul Initiatives for Climate Change Responses : Current Status and Future Direction

Developing countries severely face unprecedented crises due to climate changes with floods and droughts impacting rural communities where most people in developing countries live. The Saemaul Undong, a renowned rural development model is gaining widespread international recognition for its potential to address these challenges. This session is designed to share some best practices from developing countries highlighting successful approaches to overcoming crises in climate-vulnerable rural areas through appropriate technologies and ICT. We will explore promising development directions drawing on the insights and experience of rural development professionals and experts. Building on the discussions the session aims to share improved solution for tackling the climate crisis and contribute to the development of future policy initiatives.
