In 2024, global polycrisis, such as Russia-Ukraine war, U.S.-China strategic competition, disruption in global supply chain, and climate change, is deepening. In order to respond to global challenges and secure international peace and prosperity, Korea, as a Global Pivotal State, is striving to enhance its leadership in multilateral diplomacy and perform a leading role in cooperation in major fields. As Korea is aiming to suggest solutions to global issues, reinforce diplomacy to respond to climate change, and promote international development cooperation based on advanced countries’ approaches, we would like to assess how Korea is doing from a more objective perspective and discuss the way forward in this session. In particular, stepping forward from the perspective of the Korean government, we are going to invite foreign journalists to explore the roles Korea needs to play in various fields. This will help lay a foundation for Korea’s contribution in international cooperation befitting Korea’s national stature.
