Deputy Spokesperson Jooil LEE joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1997 and is a career diplomat well-versed in a wide range of issues such as multilateral and public affairs. He has served in the Korean Permanent Mission to the United Nations office and other international organizations in Geneva (2009), the Korean Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York (2017), and the Korean Embassy in the United Mexican States (2020). Recently, he was seconded to the Office of National Security (2015) and the Office of the President (2022). In 2007, he was awarded the Prime Minister's Citation.
