Thomas MARESCA is the Asia Correspondent for UPI and has been based in Seoul for five years. He covers a range of topics including breaking news, geopolitics, cultural trends and security and defense issues on the Korean Peninsula and around the region.
Mr. MARESCA was previously a correspondent for USA Today, based in both South Korea and Southeast Asia, and has contributed reporting and photographs to numerous media outlets including NBC News, Time, The Atlantic, NK News, The Associated Press and The Times.
In 2019, he received a Jefferson Fellowship at the East-West Center with a focus on global migration patterns and public sentiment. He regularly appears as a panelist on Arirang TV's Issues and Insiders.
