'Hate' has emerged as one of the keywords that penetrates Korean society today. Hate speech and behavior not only have erupted into hatred toward specific social groups, but as can be seen from the recent gender conflict issue, hate is intertwined with political ideology and has come to emerge as a key means of politics.
Dr. Carolin Emcke of Germany, author of Against Hate, said that hate is not explode out of nowhere, but is trained and nurtured. This is why it is necessary to delve into the truth about hate phenomena, and to reflect on and make active solidarity efforts towards co-existence.
In this session, we will explore the nature of hate phenomena targeted towards specific groups, share various efforts and outcomes at home and abroad to overcome hate, and discuss practical ways to move towards the era of coexistence.
