Biography
Younghee Kim is a chief editorial writer of The Hankyoreh. After graduating from university, Kim joined the Hankyoreh in 1993 and worked as a reporter for international, cultural, social, and economic affairs. She studied politics at Keio University in Tokyo in the early 2000s and returned to the Hankyoreh and has served as head of international, cultural, and social affairs departments, editorial board member, and general deputy director. During her service as the head of the social affairs department, Kim led the coverage of the manipulation of state affairs, impeachment, and candlelight protests, and became the first female chief editorial writer in 2022. She has been writing columns with continuous interest in issues related to national politics, education, labor, gender, and the disabled.
