환태평양공원 도시 협의체 회의
In the aftermath of the Cold War in the 20th century, the Ilan-Lael Foundation, based in San Diego, US, began the Pacific Rim Park (PRP) Project to build friendship parks around the Pacific Rim. The parks are designed, built, and completed by the young generation from cities around the Pacific Rim, who interact with each other through the project based on a shared vision for lasting peace. The PRP organization has built seven parks to date. Each park reflects the culture and diversity of respective cities and serves not only as a cultural connection but also as a symbol of new friendship promoting peace in the region.
This session gathers PRP member cities to discuss the process of establishing a city network based on “peace” and the significance of peace built on “parks” by sharing our vision for the construction of new parks.
