The Republic of Korea hosted the first-ever Korea-Africa Summit in Seoul in June 2024, aiming to establish itself as a Global Pivotal State and to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation with the African continent. Since the historic commitments made at the summit, Korea and Africa have been reinforcing a forward-looking partnership based on shared growth, sustainability, and solidarity. This session, marking the one-year anniversary of the Korea-Africa Summit, will bring together African ambassadors to Korea and Korean experts on Africa to review progress in the three key areas highlighted in the summit’s joint declaration—shared growth, sustainability, and solidarity—and to explore ways to further enhance this collaboration moving forward.
