Biography

Togolani Edriss Mavura is a diplomat and senior civil servant with extensive experience in government, diplomacy, public policy, and communication. He currently serves as the Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania to the Republic of Korea, a position he has held since September 2021.
Prior to his ambassadorial role, Mavura worked closely with former President of Tanzania His Excellency Jakaya Kikwete as his Private Secretary from 2015 to 2021, and previously as his Speechwriter and Personal Assistant from 2014 to 2015. He also served as the Private Secretary to the Foreign Minister (2009–2014) and held positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. His career has taken him to over 70 countries, 21 State Houses, and 4 Palaces across the world.
Mavura holds a Master of Science in Leadership and Development from King’s College London and a Postgraduate Diploma in Foreign Service Management. He has completed diplomatic training in the UK, South Africa, the Netherlands, and Egypt. Additionally, he serves as a Board Member for the Africa Advisory Board of Save the Children UK and is an Associate Fellow at the African Leadership Centre.
His career reflects a deep commitment to diplomacy, international cooperation, and leadership development.
