There are even concerns being raised that if this trend continues, it will not only lead to the 'extinction of the provinces' but also the 'extinction of the Republic of Korea.' The frighteningly worsening low birth rate, combined with aging will form an inverted population pyramid and become a trigger that will destroy the labor market, which is the backbone of economic growth.
