Suncheon Mayor ROH Kwan Kyu was born on September 24, 1960 in Jangheung, Jeollanam-do, and after graduating from Suncheon Maesan High School. He works for the Guro Industrial Complex, National Tax Service. He passed the 34th Judicial Examination in 1992 and served as a prosecutor until 1997. He first entered politics in 2002 at the recommendation of former President Kim Dae Jung. He served in key positions, including the special advisor to the Democratic Party president and the chairman of the Millennium Democratic Party's Budget and Accounts Committee, in 2006. Since he was first elected as the 5th mayor of Suncheon, he has served as the 3rd mayor of Suncheon until the 6th and 10th. Recognizing the successful hosting of the 2023 Suncheon Bay International Garden Expo with extraordinary momentum and transformational leadership. He received the grand prize from the Special Award of the Local Era Committee and the Grand Prize for Local Administrative Innovation, and wased as a major book <I want to spread hope like a dandelion> (2010), <Secret of the success of the 2023 Suncheon bay International Garden Expo> (2023), etc.
