KIM Kwan-young, the Governor of Jeonbuk State, was born in Gunsan, Jeonbuk, as the fifth son of a poor farmer. He is a prominent figure with a success story of having passed the highly competitive national exams: the Certified Public Accountant exam, the Public Administration examination, and the bar exam. Previously, he held the position of Deputy Director at the Ministry of Economy and Finance and practiced as a lawyer at Kim & Jang Law Firm. Additionally, he has been a member of the 19th and 20th National Assemblies of South Korea. In the 2022 local elections, he ran as a candidate for governor of Jeonbuk and secured the highest vote share, currently serving as the governor of Jeonbuk. With a belief that "you can achieve it if you challenge," he is dedicated to revitalizing the economy of Jeonbuk through creating jobs and attracting businesses. He is particularly focused on fostering the agricultural and life sciences industry, secondary battery industry, and bioindustry, as well as making his best efforts for the development of Saemangeum, the land of the future, to ensure that the path Jeonbuk follows will become the path of South Korea.
