This session is themed around data-based smart island solutions in Jeju and discussions over new directions to encourage investments in sustainable and promising industries in Jeju Province. It also helps raise the attention of potential investors from home and abroad to Jeju Smart Island and encourages them to take part in it. The Jeju Smart Island Project will combine smart tourism with transportation, public administration, and many other sectors to further develop the island’s economic and social infrastructure in response to the Fourth Industrial Revolution while preserving its pristine natural environment. In the era of digital transformation where existing industries embrace digital technology, Jeju needs to find new investment areas that are in line with its aim to develop Jeju Free International City. In this context, local and international smart city experts and investment specialists are invited to explore how Jeju is building a new economy and a new investment platform by developing Jeju Smart Island.
