Smart growth control strategies such as housing and medical city plans are concerned with preparing for the Unification of the Korean Peninsula. They have been explored and proposed as an efficient and optimal model that will be applied to North Korean industries improving their quality of living in the near future.
Session 1. Digital City Development: Based on Jeju's old town regeneration strategy North Korea will accelerate its urban development as a strategy for future economic development. Accordingly, it will experience rapid urbanization in the future, and without proper orientation, it will inherit the side effects experienced by the South. In this session, we will discuss the side effects of urbanization that South Korea has gone through and also the ways to develop cities to avoid such side effects.
