Lee Sang-Hyun was born in 1963 in South Chungcheong Province. He holds bachelor's, master's, and doctorate degrees from Seoul National University, Michigan University, and Harvard University. He has served as a professor at Myongji University since 2003. It published a number of papers and books on how to analyze and develop the city. Some of the most popular articles include <Development of a Structural Indicator of Urban Spatial Network to Estimate Traffic Volume within the Urban Space> (2012 Best Paper Prize, Architectural Institute of Korea) and some of the major books include <Taming Architecture, Tamed Human>(2012 Today's book of NAVER, 2012 Excellent book of the year by Korean Ministry of Culture and Tourism), <Lounging>.
