In an age when algorithms influence what we believe and platforms determine whose voices carry, who gets to govern the digital space?
The UNDPPA has been advancing the Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) and Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agendas in Northeast Asia through sustained programming that connects youth leadership, gender equality, and regional cooperation. Central to this work is the recognition that inclusive and responsible digital governance is increasingly shaping the conditions for peace, dialogue, and participation across the region.
This panel brings together young women from Northeast Asia who have been actively engaged in UNDPPA-facilitated youth processes and regional networks, contributing to recommendations on digital inclusion, countering hate speech, and responsible AI governance. The discussion will explore the intersection of YPS and WPS in the digital age, highlighting how young women are navigating and shaping digital spaces as leaders and peacebuilders.
Speakers will also reflect on how participation in regional initiatives has expanded their agency in multilateral and digital governance spaces, including with foresight tools to inform decision-making and collaboration.
