Session

Jeju 4·3 Spirit and World Peace

It has been 17 years since Jeju Special Self-Governing Province was designated as an island of world peace to sublimate the tragedy of Jeju 4·3 into reconciliation and co-prosperity, and to contribute to world peace by inheriting the spirit of summit diplomacy for peace settlement.
In this session, first of all, we will look at the extent to which the 4·3 spirit practice project has been carried out. Second, it presents the role of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province for world peace beyond the painful past of Jeju 4·3.
Third, we diagnose the reality and problems of the Jeju Peace Island initiative and seek solutions. Fourth, it predicts the future of Jeju Island, and island of world peace, and presents practical tasks for international cooperation in Jeju Island.
Fourth, in the wake of the disclosure of diplomatic confidential documents proving the French government's intervention during the genocide in Rwanda in the 1990s, Jeju April 3 points out implications related to the U.S. responsibility.
