[외교관 라운드테이블] 아랍대사 라운드테이블 : 향후 10년을 향한 한국과 아랍 간의 전략적 협력

최근 국제정세에 엄청난 변화가 발생하였다. 미-중 간 전략적 대립과 러시아의 영향력 확대 시도 그리고 이란 핵 협상 전망의 불예측성은 전 세계적으로 불안정성을 한층 높였다. 그뿐만 아니라 최근 우크라이나 사태로 인해 중동 국가의 전통적 외교 노선에 변화의 조짐이 나타나기 시작했다.
한편, 아랍국가들은 석유 자원을 기반으로 현대화의 기초를 탄탄히 구축해 왔으며, 아울러 미래 준비를 위해 산업의 다양화, 첨단화를 과감히 추진하고 있다. 이러한 배경하에서 아랍대사라운드테이블이 마련되었는바, 주한 아랍대사 및 아랍 근무 경험이 있는 한국대사 그리고 제3국 대사들이 한 자리에 모여 중동과 아랍의 외교정책 방향을 분석하는 한편, 향후 10년을 향한 한-아랍 간의 전략적 협력방안을 모색하고자 한다.
In recent years, there has been a vast change in the international affairs. Strategic confrontation between the United States and China, Russia's attempts to expand its influence, and the unpredictability of the prospects for the Iran nuclear deal have heightened global insecurity. Furthermore, the recent crisis in Ukraine has begun to show signs of a change in the traditional diplomatic lines of Middle Eastern countries.
On the other hand, Arab countries have built a solid foundation for modernization based on oil resources, and are also boldly pushing forward with industry diversification and modernization to face the future. With such a background, the Arab ambassador roundtable was organized. The Arab ambassador to Korea, former Korean ambassador to the Arab world and the ambassador from a third country who formerly worked in the Arab world assembled to analyze the direction of foreign policy in the Middle East and the Arab world and to seek strategic cooperation between Korea and the Arab world for the next 10 years.
