Diplomacy / Security
The tension and confrontation surrounding the Korean Peninsula are growing intense. Ongoing North Korean missile tests, large-scale military exercises of South Korea and its allies, and harsh mutual blame games between the North and South are implying another potential conflict in this world already marred by wars. Given this situation, is the long-sought denuclearization of North Korea now just a wishful thinking? Or is the door still open for denuclearization? Is complete, verifiable, and irreversible denuclearization still a viable goal? If not, what other feasible options remain? This panel explores the ideals and realities of the North Korean denuclearization issue and examine what (or whether any) choices are left for us.
