Biography

NING Fukui. Born in 1955. Graduated from an undergraduate program at the Department of Korean language and Literature of the Kim Il Sung University. Entered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China in 1976, and was in charge of Korean Peninsula affairs for a long time. Worked at the Chinese Embassy in D.P.R.K twice. Served as Division Director of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in D.P.R.K, Deputy Director General of the Department of Asian Affairs (in charge of Northeast Asian affairs), Ambassador to Cambodia, Ambassador for Korean Peninsula Affairs (also as Deputy Head of the Chinese delegation to the Six-Party Talks and head of the working group for the Six-Party Talks), Ambassador to R.O.K., Director General of the Department of Boundary and Ocean Affairs, and Ambassador to Thailand. Retired in 2017. Served as Deputy Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Affairs of China from 2018–2019.
