Session

A New Approach in Korean Peace: Gender·Ecology·Peace

This session aims to explore the new possibilities of peace discourse on the Korean Peninsula at a micro level. Our discussion will not remain in the ‘negative peace’ discussion of “a state without war”, but rather in earnest the discussion of peace at an ‘positive peace’ level. This can begin by dismantling memories of historical trauma and restoring the voices of various agencies existing in the social structure. The purpose of this session is to find out the voices of women who have been erased from the history of peace and division, and to examine the relationship between ecological approach and peace in the context of Jeju Island. By confirming the possibility of peace on the Korean Peninsula, which exists as multiple images, we intend to expand the horizon of existing discussions and present alternative peace.
