Innovation Strategy Against Global Crisis: Start-ups to Resolve Muted Growth

The worldwide job market is at its worst stage due to economic recession caused by COVID-19 pandemic. Especially, South Korea is facing the steepest employment loss since the foreign exchange crisis. Despite the mentioned circumstance, venture capital/start-up businesses have created approx. 54 thousand job places last year.
This scale of employment is considered bigger than that of conglomerates, meaning start-ups and venture capitals are now a recognizable part of South Korean economy, proving that innovative start-ups are producing jobs as well as contributions to economic revitalization in this era of the 4th industrial revolution.
The session aims to provide a platform of discussion in entrepreneurship, under the main theme of Jeju Forum; . The discussion will invite those in interest and conduct communication to share cases of successful start-up businesses and to draw a solution for sustainable development in Jeju as well as South Korea.
