The year 1962 is a special year in the history of Korean diplomacy. From its foundation to 1961, Korea established diplomatic relations with only 22 countries. But in 1962, Korea established diplomatic ties with a whopping number of 28 countries. Based on partnership with these countries, Korea achieved remarkable diplomatic and economic growth over the past 60 years, and bilateral exchanges and cooperation with these countries have dramatically increased. In this special session, we will invite ambassadors of the countries that established diplomatic ties with Korea in 1962 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations and look back on the past six decades for seeking a joint vision for a peaceful and prosperous future.
