SONG Guido

Biography

SONG Guido is President of the Korea Foundation. He assumed the position in 2025. Prior to his current role, Dr. SONG had a distinguished career in academia, diplomacy, and public policy. He served for three decades as a professor in the Department of Political Science and International Relationsat Jeonbuk National University (1987–2017). He also represented the Republic of Korea as Ambassador to Colombia, where he worked to expand bilateral political, economic, and cultural cooperation. In addition to his diplomatic service, Dr. SONG has contributed to national policy development through roles on government advisory bodies, including the Presidential Advisory Council for Balanced National Development. He has also been active in academic leadership, serving as Vice President of the Korean Association of International Studies and president of the Korean Association of Latin American Studies. Dr. SONG received a B.A. in Spanish Language and Literature from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, and both his M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science from Complutense University of Madrid.
