Biography
Levent GÜMRÜKÇÜ is the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Türkiye. A graduate of Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara, Ambassador GÜMRÜKÇÜ has held a number of senior diplomatic positions, including Permanent Representative of Türkiye to NATO, Director General for Bilateral Political Affairs (Americas), Ambassador to Brussels, and Ambassador to Tbilisi. He has also served as Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and as Deputy Director General for Policy Planning. Since joining the Ministry in 1991 in the Office of the Private Secretary to the Minister, he has served in various capacities at the Permanent Representation of Türkiye to the United Nations, the Permanent Representation of Türkiye to NATO, as well as at the Embassies of the Republic of Türkiye in Tehran and Washington. Ambassador GÜMRÜKÇÜ is also a graduate of the NATO Defense College in Rome.
