Biography

Dr. PARK Dong Joon is an Associate Research Fellow and Director of Research at the Jeju Peace Institute (JPI). He received his Ph.D. in Political Science from the department of Government at Georgetown University in 2020, and his research focuses on alliance politics in Northeast Asia, the role of reputations in international relations, and, more broadly, the impact of perceptions on crisis decision-making. His previous roles/positions include, POSCO Visiting Fellow at the East-West Center (2023), Research Professor at the Peace and Democracy Institute (PDI) at Korea University (2023), Visiting Scholar at the Institute of Security and Conflict Studies (ISCS) at George Washington University (2020-2021), and James A. Kelly Korea Research Fellow in residence at Pacific Forum (2011-2012).
