Dr. HONG Hyunik, Seceatary-General of Korean National Commission for UNESCO, was Emerite Senior Fellow at the Sejong Institute, Head of Foreign and Security Policy Division of the State Affairs Planning Committee (Jun.-Aug. 2025.), Chairman of Civil-government-military Committee for Defense Reform of Ministry of Defense (Oct.-Dec. 2025.), and Chancellor of Korea national Diplomatic Academy (2021-2023), after being a Senior Research Fellow and the Director of the Diplomacy Strategy Studies Division at the Sejong Institute. He received a Ph.D. in International Politics at the University of Paris I (Pantheon Sorbonne), after graduating from Seoul National University with a B.A. and M.A. in international relations.
