Biography
LEE Seongwon is the founder and CEO of Para Bella Labs, an AI startup in the military sector, and a lecturer at Korea University (Inter-Korean Relations) and Korea National University of Arts (War and Media Technology). After proudly serving in the Korean Marine Corps as an officer, Lee worked at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS) through the generous support of the Korea Foundation (KF)’s Global Challengers Program. He then served as a deputy director for international cooperation at the Ministry of Unification, and more recently as the first international spokesperson at the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs (MPVA). He is also a member of the advisory board of the South-North Korea Exchanges and Cooperation Support Association (SONOSA). Since publishing his first book that explains military strategy and international relations theory through the popular computer game “Starcraft”, LEE remains devoted to the application of games to the real world. He has a B.A. from Stanford University, an M.A. from the University of North Korean Studies, and is soon to receive his Ph.D. from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).
