Biography
Dr. OH Il Seok currently serves as Director of the Emerging Security Studies at the Institute for National Security Strategy (INSS) and as Vice President of the Korean Association of Space Security (KASS). His primary research areas include cybersecurity, space security, energy security, and legislation related to advanced technologies. His major publications, papers, and presentations include “Characteristics and Implications of President Trump’s Cybersecurity Strategy (2026),” “U.S. National Security Strategy: Key Elements and Implications in New Security Fields (2025),” “Implications for Korea of the MAGA-Led U.S.-European Far-Right Alliance (2025),” “Establishing Power Security to Realize a Globally Responsible AI Power (2025),” “Legislative Improvements for the Development of Space Security (2024),” “Countermeasures Against Cyber Threats in the New Space Era (2023),” “The Biden Administration’s Cybersecurity Policy and Implications: Focusing on Cyber Deterrence (2023),” “Characteristics of North Korean Cyber Threats and Countermeasures: Focusing on the KIM Jong-un Era (co-authored, 2023),” and “South Korea’s Strategy to Become an Information Powerhouse (co-authored, 2021).” He earned a Ph.D. in Law from Korea University and an LL.M. (Master of Laws) from Northwestern University School of Law in the United States.
