Professor JEON Woo-taek is a distinguished expert in psychiatry and medical education. He graduated from Yonsei University College of Medicine, where he subsequently earned both his Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Psychiatry. As a board-certified psychiatrist, he has dedicated much of his academic career to Yonsei University College of Medicine, serving as a professor in the Departments of Psychiatry and Medical Education. Throughout his career as a social psychiatrist, Professor JEON has conducted profound research on complex social issues, including North Korean defectors, refugees, social trauma, and the essential processes of social healing. His extensive expertise and leadership have led him to serve in several prestigious roles, such as President of the Korea Peace Institute, Chairman of the Association of Healthcare for Korean Unification (AHKU), Chairman of the Korea Association for Suicide Prevention, and President of the Korean Society of Medical Education. He is also a prolific author of highly influential works, including Trauma and Social Healing, Unification is Healing, Preparing for a Health Community on the Korean Peninsula, and The Future of Medical Education.
