This session aims to review past engagement efforts with the DPRK, particularly during the late 2010s, and assess their key dynamics, achievements, and limitations. Drawing on the insights of experienced policymakers and experts, the discussion seeks to:
· Identify practical lessons from the past engagement and assess their relevance today;
· Examine how the conditions for dialogue have evolved;
· Explore how these lessons can inform more effective strategies for resuming dialogue, advancing denuclearization, and promoting sustainable peace on the Korean Peninsula.
