약력
최정화 한국이미지커뮤니케이션연구원(CICI) 이사장은 한국외국어대학교를 졸업 후, 파리 3대학 통역번역대학원(ESIT)에서 1986년 아시아 최초로 통역ㆍ번역학 박사 학위를 취득했다. 다수의 국제회의와 글로벌 행사를 통해 얻은 국가 이미지와 브랜드에 대한 식견으로 대통령 직속 기구인 국가이미지위원회와 국가브랜드위원회에서 위원을 역임했다. 현재 한국외국어대학교 교수로 재직 중이며 창립 15주년을 맞이한 CICI 이사장이자 오감으로 한국이미지 정수 사거리를 알리고자 설립된 5ㆍ4클럽 공동대표이다.
한국이미지상 시상식 CICI Korea, 세계 문화 소통계 리더들을 초청해 한국을 경험하고 알리는 문화소통포럼 CCF를 비롯, 다양한 활동을 통해 한국의 참 이미지를 세계에 알리고 있다. 1992년 프랑스 정부로부터 교육공로훈장을, 2003년에는 한국 여성 최초로 프랑스 국가최고훈장인 레종 도뇌르를 받았다. 2015년에 출범한 한불클럽 사무총장으로도 활동하고 있다.
Choi Jungwha is the first Asian to earn her doctorate in Translation Studies in 1986 at E.S.I.T., School of Interpretation and Translation, at the University of Paris III after her undergraduate studies at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. She gained insight into Korea’s brand positioning while actively participating in many international events and conferences, and played an important role as a member of the Presidential Council on Nation Branding. She is committed to conveying the true image of Korea to the rest of the world through various events such as the CICI Korea Image Awards-an annual award ceremony-or the CCF (Cultural Communication Forum)-a meeting of leading figures in culture and communication, which provides an opportunity for them to get to know Korea. She also plays a bridging role between France and Korea as Secretary General of Korea-France Club, established in 2015.
Choi received major awards such as the Palmes Académiques in 1992, and was the first Korean woman to receive the Legion d’Honneur in 2003 from the French government for her contribution to education, communication and cultural exchange. She is currently a professor at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, the president of Corea Image Communication Institute (CICI), and the co-president of the 5.4 Club.
