Marianne Gerdes is the Executive Director of the Ilan-Lael Foundation, of which the Pacific Rim Park peace project is one its most important programs. In 1994, Pacific Rim Park and the Ilan-Lael Foundation, under the artistic direction of artist James Hubbell, launched a global conversation between San Diego and Pacific Rim nations exploring the transformative power of art and the artistic process. This resulted in seven public art parks that now unite the diverse people and nations of the Pacific. An eighth is being built in Yantai, China this summer. The parks transcend language and cultural barriers, and explore and celebrate our common humanity. Ms. Gerdes facilitates relationships with governments, and public and private organizations who partner in this international project. Ms. Gerdes is also an award-winning film maker, and the recipient of five Pacific Southwest Emmy awards for excellence in television programs. She is currently working on a film about artist James Hubbell that will include scenes about the Pacific Rim Park project filmed in S. Korea and China.


마리안 게르데스는 일란라엘 재단의 사무국장으로 환태평양공원 평화 프로젝트는 일란라엘 재단의 중요한 프로그램 중 하나이다. 1994년 환태평양공원과 일란라엘 재단은 예술가 제임스 허벨 의 예술적 지휘아래 샌디에고와 환태평양지역 국가와의 예술적 프로세스와 예술의 힘이 변화하는 과정을 경험하는 글로벌 소통을 추진하였다. 이러한 결과 7개의 예술공원이 현재 조성되고 태평양의 다양한 사람과 국가가 화합하고 있다. 이번 여름 8번째 공원이 중국 옌타이에 건립될 예정이다. 공원은 언어와 문화장벽을 초월하고 화합된 인간성을 성찰한다. 게르데스 사무국장은 이러한 국제프로젝트에 참여하는 정부, 관과 민간 조직 간 관계를 용이하게하는 업무를 보고 있다. 게르데스 사무국장은 또한 영상제작자로서 텔레비전 프로그램의 태평양남서 에이미 상을 수상한 경력을 갖고 있다. 사무국장은 현재 예술가 제임스 허벨 에 관한 작품을 제작하고 있으며 한국과 중국의 환태평양공원 프로젝트의 촬영분을 작품에 포함시킬 에정이다.
