Fukunari KIMURA has been Professor, Faculty of Economics, Keio University, since 2000 and Chief Economist, Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), Jakarta, Indonesia since 2008. He is also Program Officer, Social Sciences Group, Research Center for Science Systems, Japan Society for the Promotion of Science since 2016 and serves as a co-editor of the Journal of the Japanese and International Economies. He was born in Tokyo in 1958 and received his Bachelor of Laws from the Faculty of Law, University of Tokyo in 1982, Master of Science and Ph.D. from the Department of Economics, University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1990 and 1991. He worked for the Department of Economics, State University of New York at Albany as Assistant Professor in 1991-1994, and the Faculty of Economics, Keio University as Associate Professor in 1994-2000. He served as President, Japan Society of International Economics (2010-2012), Representative Director, Tokyo Center for Economic Research (2012-2014), and Dean, Graduate School of Economics, Keio University (2015-2017). He is majoring international trade and development economics. He has recently been active in writing on international production networks and economic integration in East Asia.

기무라 후쿠나리 박사의 전공▪연구분야는 국제무역론, 개발경제학이다. 1958년 도쿄에서 출생하여 도쿄대학 법학부를 졸업하고 1990년과 1991년에 위스콘신-매디슨대학에서 석사 및 박사학위를 취득하였다. 1991년~1994년 뉴욕주립대학 경제학부 조교수, 1994년~2000년 게이오대학 경제학부 조교수, 2000년~현재까지 게이오대학 경제학부 교수로 재직하고 있다.
2008년~ 현재까지 인도네시아 자카르타의 아세안 및 동아시아 경제연구소(ERIA) 수석 경제학자이며, 2010년~2012년 일본 국제경제학회 회장, 2012년~2014년 도쿄경제연구센터 대표, 2015년~2017년 게이오대학 경제대학원장을 역임하였으며, 일본 및 국제경제저널의 공동 편집인으로 활동 중이다.
