약력
Kim, Cae-One is Professor Emeritus, Seoul National University. He graduated from the Law College at Seoul National University(1961) and majored in European economic integration at Université Libre de Bruxelles(Ph.D.1969). As Professor at Department of Economics of Seoul National University and Dean of College of Social Sciences, he taught international economics. He successively served as President of numerous Korean academic Associations, especially Korea Economic Association, International Economic Studies, EU Studies Association and EUSA Asia-Pacific(2001-04). He was also founding President(1988-91) and Chairman(1993-98) of Korea Information Strategy Development Institute, Korea Monetary Board Member(1991-94) and Commissioner of Financial Supervisory Commission(1998-2000) of Korea. He is currently Chairman/CEO of World Economy Research Institute(WERI, 2006-). On his contribution to enhancing Korea-European academic exchanges, he was awarded of French Government decoration, Legion d’Honneur(1990).
In relation to publication activities, he wrote many books and articles on international economics and Korean economy including “Economic Reforms in the Socialist World”(1989, McMillan), “Korean Economy at Turning Point”(1996, Kor.), “Economics of the EU”(2004, Kor.), “Conditions for the Successful Establishment of East Asian Free Trade Area”(2006, Kor.), “EU’s Common Commercial Policy and International Trade Relations”(2007, Kor.) and “A Road to an Asian Economic Community: Post Crisis New World Order”(2010)
