Dr. Sok Chul Kim graduated Korea Advance Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Department of nuclear and quantum engineering. And he began his scientific career in 1984 at Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute/Nuclear Safety Center. He had worked in the field of safety analysis especially on thermal hydraulics analysis for the simulation of nuclear reactor accident. From 1990 to 1999, he had worked at Korea Institute of Nuclear Safety as senior researcher. In 1999, he joined International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) as a staff member (Reactor accident prevention specialist and nuclear security officer, P4) of Department of nuclear safety and security, division of nuclear installation safety. In September 2006, he return to Korea Institute of Nuclear Safety and appointed as head of radiological security department. He had worked on nuclear emergency and security preparedness in terms on radioactive material as principal researcher and the director of nuclear emergency and security preparedness department at KINS. Since 2012, he is working on PSA, Severe Accident Management and Safety/Security interface field as a principal researcher. He is leading a research project on “Developing Evaluation Methodology and Guidance on Loss of Large Area at the nuclear installations.
