Born in 1952, Ambassodor Timonin entered the diplomatic service in 1980. Previously he worked at the Embassies of the USSR and the Russian Federation to the DPRK and to the Republic of Korea. From 2012-2014, he served as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. On December, 26, 2014, by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Korea. Ambassador Timonin is the author of a number of books and articles, covering the issues of providing for peace and security, the development of multilateral economic cooperation at the Korean Peninsula and in the North-East Asia.
