약력
연세대학교, City University of Hong Kong, 미국 UCLA에서 비교정치, 국제정치, 정치사상을 공부하였으며 현재 연세대학교 정치외교학과 부교수, 사회과학대학 부학장, 연세대학교 통일연구원 부원장, 연세대 정치학과 대학원 BK “융복합정치학랩” 교육연구단장으로 재직 중이다. 이전 성균관대학교 동아시아학술원 교수와 성균중국연구소의 부소장으로 활동했고, 현재 외교부, 국회, 해군, 산림청 등에서 자문위원으로 활동한다. 주요 학술적-정책적 연구 분야는 정치적 상호작용이며 글로벌 전략과 국내-국제정치적 상호작용의 관점에서 아시아의 경제안보, 정치경제, 독재/권위주의, 소프트-하드-샤프파워와 공공외교와 과학기술외교 등이다. 또한 사회과학, 인문학, 이공학을 아우르는 융복합정치학의 관점에서 사물정치(Politics of Things) 필드를 새로 개척하며 기술(Technology)과 숲(Forest)에 다가가고 있다. Wooyeal PAIK is associate professor at the Department of Political Science and International Studies, deputy director, Yonsei Institute of North Korean Studies, and head, BK “Interdisciplinary Political Science Lab” Program, Yonsei University. Previously, he was vice director at Sungkyun Institute of China Studies, Sungkyunkwan University. Prof. PAIK received a B.A. in political science from Yonsei University, a M.Phil. in public and social administration from City University of Hong Kong, and a M.A. and a Ph.D. in political science from the University of California at Los Angeles. His recent research focuses on the interactions between domestic politics and international politics from global strategic perspectives. He also tries to create a new field, politics of things. His recent publications appear in The China Quarterly, Political Science Quarterly, International Political Science Review, International Environmental Agreements, Modern China, Journal of Contemporary China, The Pacific Review, The Pacific Affairs, Asia Europe Journal, The Pacific Focus, Issues and Studies, Korean Political Science Review, Korean Journal of International Studies, and multiple policy-oriented journals|edited volumes.
