약력
도쿄대학 문학부 졸업. 도쿄대 사회과학연구소 교수, 사회과학연구소 소장 등 역임 현재 도쿄대학 명예교수. 전공은 소련‧러시아사, 한국 근현대사 전공. 한국에 『역사가의 탄생』, 『러일전쟁 기원과 개전 (1) (2)』등 다수의 업적을 남겼다. 1970년대 베트남전쟁 반대운동, 한국 민주화 지원운동, 일본군‘위안부’ 문제 해결운동 등 현실문제 에도 적극적으로 참여한 일본의 대표적인 실천하는 지식인이다. 2020년 한국에서 만해상을 수상했다.
Wada Haruki graduated from the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Tokyo. He served as professor and director of the Institute of Social Sciences and is currently professor emeritus at the University. He majored in Soviet-Russian history and modern Korean history. His works in Korea include "The Birth of a Historian" and "The Origin of the Russo-Japanese War (1) and (2)”. He is a Japanese intellectual who actively participated in real-life protests such as the anti-Vietnam War movement in the 1970s, the Korean pro-democracy support movement, and the ‘Comfort Women’ protest movement. He received the Manhae Prize 2020 in Korea.
