약력
베트남 근현대사에서 출발한 초기 연구는 식민지 시기 주변 동북아 지역과의 지적 교류를 사회사적 방법으로 연구하였다. 이후에는 한국을 통해 베트남을 포함한 동아시아 세계를 조망하며 교류사와 비교사적 관점에서 개항장, 한인들의 동남아 체험, 문화교류, 한국과 베트남의 관계 등을 다루었다. 현재는 참파사, 베트남 불교사, 베트남전쟁 당시의 한국 사회에 관심을 갖고 연구를 진행 중이다.
Dae-yeong Youn is a historian whose earlier research focused on the modern and contemporary history of Vietnam, in particular intellectual exchanges with the Northeast Asian region during the colonial period from a socio-historical perspective. Subsequent studies examine the East Asian world, including Vietnam, from the perspective of Korea’s experiences, dealing with port openings, Koreans’ experiences in Southeast Asia, cultural exchange, and the relationship between Korea and Vietnam from the perspective of exchange history and comparative history. Currently, his research interests focus on history of Champa, Vietnamese Buddhist history, and Korean society during the Vietnam War.
