약력

Simon Mundy was appointed the Financial Times’ correspondent in Seoul in July 2012, and is responsible for coverage of both North and South Korea.

He previously worked as a companies reporter in London, where he covered the technology and telecoms sectors, and then UK financial companies. Before that he worked for the FT in Johannesburg, where he covered southern Africa for the paper from July 2010 to January 2011.

Prior to joining the FT, Simon was a corporate reporter at Business Day, a South African national newspaper, where he wrote mostly on the mining and telecoms sectors.

He graduated with a first class degree in English Literature from the University of Edinburgh, where he was named Scottish Student Journalist of the Year, and nominated for the Guardian Student Columnist of the Year prize and the Allen Wright Award for arts journalism. He was awarded the FT’s Sander Thoenes Fellowship for foreign reporting in 2010, and was shortlisted for the US National Press Foundation’s Laurence Stern fellowship in 2013.
