약력
프랭크 리즈버만 박사는 친환경적으로 지속가능하고 사회적으로 포용적인 경제 성장모델로의 정책 전환을 지원하며 글로벌녹색성장연구소(GGGI)를 이끌고 있다. 환경 지속가능성과 빈곤 감소 달성을 위한 30년간의 경력을 기반으로 프랭크 리즈버만 박사는 2016년 10월 1일 사무총장으로 임명되었고, 2020년 10월 1일에 재차 임명되었다.
GGGI에 합류하기 전에 리즈버만 박사는 국제 농업 연구 컨소시엄을 위한 컨설팅 그룹의 최고 경영자(CEO)를 역임하였다. 또한 2010년부터 2012년까지 리즈버만 박사는 빌 & 멜린다 게이츠 재단에서 첫 물·위생 이사로 재직하며 최첨단 신기술과 혁신적인 시장 기반 메커니즘을 이용하여 지속 가능한 위생 서비스에 대한 접근권을 보장하는 전략을 개발하였다. 리즈버만 박사는 미국 콜로라도 주립대에서 수자원 관리 및 계획 박사 학위를, 네덜란드 텔프트 공과대학에서 토목공학 석사 및 학사 학위를 받았다.
Dr. Frank Rijberman leads the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) in supporting governments transition towards a model of economic growth that is environmentally sustainable and socially inclusive. With over 30 year’s experience addressing the challenges of environmental sustainability and poverty reduction, Dr Rijsberman was initially appointed as the Director-General of the Institute, on October 1, 2016 and re-appointed for a second term starting October 1, 2020.
Prior to joining GGGI, Dr. Rijsberman served as Chief Executive Officer of the Consultative Group for International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) Consortium. From 2010 to 2012, He was the first Director of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, where he developed a strategy to help achieve universal access to sustainable sanitation services using radical new technologies and innovative market-based mechanisms. He holds a PhD degree in water resources management and planning from Colorado State University (US) and a MSc and BS in Civil Engineering from Delft University of Technology (Netherlands).
