약력
나흐만 샤이 박사는 2019년 아틀란타 소재 에모리 대학교 방문 교수를 거쳐 현재 듀크 대학교 이스라엘 연구소 방문교수로 활동하고 있다. 그는 10년 간 이스라엘 의회(크네셋)에서 국회의원으로 활동했다. 의원 당선 전에는 과학문화스포츠부 국장, 이스라엘 국방부 대변인, 이츠하크 라빈 국방장관 커뮤니케이션 보좌관 등 국방, 언론, 외교, 공공 부문에서 다양한 요직을 두루 거쳤다. 그는 바르 일란 대학교에서 정치와 커뮤니케이션 전공으로 박사학위를 받았으며, 저서로는 Media Wars (2013년 출판), Caught in the Net (2016년 출판) and Hearts and Minds(2018 출판)이 있다.
Dr. Nachman Shai is currently an Israeli Institute Visiting Professor at Duke University Political Science department in Durham, N.C., following the 2019 academic year when he has been a Visiting Professor at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. Nachman has been a Member of Knesset for the past 10 years. Prior to his election to the Knesset, he has held diverse positions in the military, the media, the diplomatic and the public arenas. These include: Director General of the Ministry of Science, Culture and Sport; Israel Defense Force Spokesperson, Communications Advisor to the Minister of Defense Yitzhak Rabin. He holds a Ph.D. in political science and communications from Bar Ilan University and his publications include Media Wars(2013), Caught in the Net (2016) and Hearts and Minds(2018).
