Simon has been the Head of the Climate, Biodiversity and Water Division in the OECD Environment Directorate since November 2014. Before that, Simon was the founding Climate Policy Director at the Grantham Institute at Imperial College London (2007-14) and a member of the Imperial College Management Board (2011-13). Simon played a leading role in the creation of the Climate Knowledge and Innovation Community – Climate KIC - and was a member of its Governing Board (2011- 14). Previously, Simon was a senior British diplomat and served in a variety of roles both in London and overseas. He also worked at the Bank of England (1998-2002), the UK Ministry of Defence (1988-1991) and as a postdoctoral researcher at Imperial (1985-86).
