약력
정영철은 서강대학교 공공정책대학원 조교수이다. 서울대학교에서 <김정일 리더십 연구>로 박사학위를 받았다. 이후, 서울대 국제대학원 연구원, 캐나다 브리티쉬컬럼비아대학교 방문연구자, 이화여대 통일학연구원 연구원을 역임하였다. 그는 시민단체인 어린이 어깨동무 평화교육센터 소장으로서 시민 평화교육 활동을 하고 있다. 최근, <평화의 시선으로 분단을 보다>, <공존의 시선으로 남북을 잇다>, <김정은 시대 북한의 변화> 등의 저서를 펴냈다. 그의 관심은 북한 및 통일, 그리고 한반도 평화이며, 이와 관련된 학술 및 시민사회 활동을 활발히 하고 있다.
Youngchul Chung is an assistant professor at Sogang University’s Graduate School of Public Policy. He received his Ph.D. in from Seoul National University. After that, he served as a researcher at the Graduate School of International Studies at Seoul National University, a visiting scholar at the University of British Columbia in Canada, and a researcher at the Ewha Institute of Unification Studies. As the director of Peace Education Center at the Okedongmu Children, a Korean NGO, he is engaged in civil peace education activities. Recently, he has published books such as, , and . His interests are North Korea and unification, and peace on the Korean Peninsula, and he is actively engaged in academic and civil society activities.
