Hoon Koo Yeo is the Chairman of Coalition for Our Common Future and an attorney at Kim & Chang. He practices primarily in the areas of litigation with a focus on insurance corporate, construction, and general administrative cases.
Prior to joining Kim & Chang, Mr. Yeo served as a judge for 24 years. Mr. Yeo took charge of various large-scale construction cases as a presiding judge of a construction specialized civil panel at the Seoul Central District Court and dealt with many kinds of cases related to insurance corporate governance and M&A as a presiding judge of a corporation and commerce specialized civil panel at the same court. He also handled administrative cases and tax law cases as a presiding judge of an administrative panel at Suwon District Court.
Mr. Yeo authored various publications, including “Review of the Controversial Issues on the Warranty Liability of a Person Who Constructs and Parcels Out Collective Housing,” “Key Points in the Judicial Conciliation of Construction Cases,” and “Standard of Judgment on the Competency of the Witness of Young Children.”
Mr. Yeo received an LL.M. from Seoul National University Graduate School of Law in 1986 and his LL.B. from Seoul National University College of Law in 1984. He attended the Judicial Research and Training Institute of the Supreme Court of Korea in 1989. He is admitted to the Korean bar.
