약력
Mr. Song is a member of the 21st National Assembly of the Republic of Korea. He is a fifth-term member (16th, 17th, 18th, 20th, and 21st) from Gyeyang-Gu (District Eul) of Incheon City. He currently serves as the chair of the National Assembly Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee. He is also participating in parliamentary study groups as he is the President of the Parliamentary Study Group on Climate Change and the Green New Deal. Mr. Song received Order of Friendship from the Russian Federation in 2013 and Legion of Honor Decoration from France in 2009.
Under the Moon administration, Mr. Song served as a special envoy of President Moon Jae-In to the Russian Federation, playing a valuable role in enhancing the bilateral cooperation between Korea and Russia. Mr. Song is playing a pivotal role in strengthening the northern economic cooperation as he was the Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Northern Economic Cooperation from 2017 to 2018. He also has a deep interest in improving South-North Korea relations.
Mr. Song served as fifth publicly-elected mayor of Incheon Metropolitan City. He received his B.A in Business Administration from Yonsei University, Seoul and he was the first directly-elected President of General Student Council. Additionally, He received two degrees in Chinese Language and Literature, and Japanese Studies from Korea National Open University.
